Canon Collins Trust LLB Scholarships at University of Western Cape in South Africa, 2014

Canon Collins Trust is inviting applications for LLB scholarships for the current second or third year students (going into their 3rd or 4th year in 2014) studying for an LLB at the University of the Western Cape. Awards are likely to be around R 25,000 per academic year. Funding will provide for up to two years. The students of  South Africa can apply for these law scholarships. The application deadline is 30 September 2013.

-A current second or third year LLB student at the University of the Western Cape
-A South African citizen normally resident in South Africa

Scholarship Description: The Leigh Day Scholarships are for third and fourth year study in law at the University of Western Cape. This scholarship is generously supported by Leigh Day & Co, a London law firm specializing in personal injury and human rights law.
Number of award(s): There is no set number, but it is likely the Trust will make 4-5 new awards this year.
Duration of award(s): Funding will provide for up to two years.
What does it cover? Awards are likely to be around R 25,000 per academic year.
Selection Criteria: In selecting scholars, the Trust will apply a number of criteria including academic merit, need and the potential to contribute to southern Africa’s future prosperity. Applicants will be assessed on the basis of the information that they supply on their application form against the criteria outlined below:

3. Leadership Competencies
4. Commitment to Country/Community

Notification: Applicants will be notified in November 2013.
